The Artwork
Much of Colgrove’s work centers on historic buildings and picturesque landscapes. He employs a variety of mediums to achieve a realistic appearance, including pen and ink, oil, watercolor and acrylic.
Colgrove uses a crow quill flexible dip pen in his pen and ink drawings to create unique pieces of quill pen art. His specialized technique has been featured in magazines such as “The Artist” and “Drawing Board.” Colgrove finishes many of his pen and ink drawings with vibrant watercolor painting.
Although he is renowned for his pen and ink drawings, Colgrove mostly works with oil now. His award-winning acrylic and oil paintings feature scenes from around the world, including Italy and France.
Giclee Prints
Giclee prints are duplications of fine art that are created from a digital source using an inkjet printer. These prints utilize a fade-resistant ink that allows giclee prints to maintain their vivid color for generations. On our site you’ll find a variety of giclee art prints from Ron Colgrove, including giclee on canvas and giclee on high quality art paper.
We will occasionally offer Colgrove’s original artwork on the site, so be sure to check back often.
