This oil painting was inspired by a family visit to Siena, Italy in 1997. The whole of Chianti is a gorgeous landscape with pleasant villas spattered randomly throughout. Siena boasts neighbors San Gimignano and Monteriggioni, and further south, the Val d'Orcia, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza which make interesting cultural and scenic trips. The large garden surrounding the villa is beautifully looked after and in the summer months; there is an explosion of colorful flowers with the centuries-old trees towering above. The patio itself exudes an artist’s challenge of perspective and diminishing point. This oil painting illustrates the Italian villa exceptionally.
