In 1895 writer-philosopher Elbert Hubbard founded the Roycroft Arts and Crafts Community in East Aurora, New York. Based on the old guild system, Hubbard created a self-contained community which supported hundreds of craftspeople. In 1905, the Roycroft Inn was opened to accommodate many craftsmen and tourists.
The Roycroft Inn became a National Landmark in 1986. It underwent a tremendous fire in the early 1990's and thanks to the support of the Margaret L. Wendt Foundation it re-opened in June 1995.
Ron Colgrove produced a felt tip pen and ink drawing on the spot of this fabulous landmark. The drawing illustrates the Inn before it was expanded and the way many Northern New Yorkers remember it. He captured the style of the original structure so completely, the Roycroft Inn personnel decided to purchase one of his hand watercolored prints.
The original drawing by Ron Colgrove was drawn in felt tip pen and ink. Check the See Also link below for the hand water colored version.
Limited edition giclée prints are available as an UNFRAMED PRINT on your choice of two mediums: Fine art paper or glossy canvas. This art print usually ships in 10-14 business days after cleared payment.
